I saw a show on Netflix. I wanted to share with you something that resonated with me, but spoiler alert, if you are watching The Good Place and haven't seen the final episode, I believe it's season four, please stop reading. Thank you. I've been watching The Good Place and it was amazing. It's funny. It resonated with me. When I came to the last episode, these people that are in the afterlife and are finding their way to heaven finally arrived after many difficulties. They arrive in a place of perfection, heaven. They're all together and it’s wonderful in the beginning.
We have an ending. That's what makes us appreciate what we have, travel, and be with loved ones.
What happens is when people are alone in paradise, living for themselves, it doesn't maintain its effervescence. I watched them experience great joy and everything they ever wanted, such as acceptance from parents, riding funny cars with monkeys in them. They were doing racing and being in bands, and being with each other, the ones that were in a couple of relationship. It was so powerful. They noticed that the people that had been in the good place in heaven for a long time didn't really have much to live for. It lost its spark. This was a problem. In this episode, which was the final episode, once again they had to apply their energy and their wisdom to finding a way to have it all makes sense, and to work because it wasn't working long-term.
They said, “It's because it has no ending.” What would make it wonderful is if people have had enough that they get to leave without any pain and they could come to a place at the edge of the woods and walk through and leave. As soon as they know that there was an ending, people could enjoy what they had, and they get to experience it. Everybody became so full of life and they began to enjoy this place. This is like our lives. We have an ending. That's what makes us appreciate what we have, and travel, and be with loved ones. It has meaning because it ends. I watched one character after another come to completion. As a human being, when I saw them walk so bravely through that opening and become dots of light, I wept for them. It has to be this way.
The show empowered me so much to treat my life like I'm in heaven already, that I have special people I can be with, things I can enjoy, foods, journey, travel, the touch of being with my cat and other loved ones. That's what makes it so special. I wanted to share that with you. If you want to see that episode, I suggest watching them all and then seeing that one. It is touching and is well done. Also, what I like is when they pass through that place and the last one passed through of the main characters, you see that there were dots of light all around that she joined the other dots of light and it got to travel the world on this new realm where they no longer embodied. I love you and I hope you appreciate your life because it's brilliant. Thank you.
This is big. I wanted to share with you. I might have to try to do this again when I'm not crying so much. I'm touched. It means a lot to me. Thank you. I remember one other thing before I let you go, one of the people of the main characters wanted to go and create this way of introducing people to this good place, doing a life's review. She had something to do. She did not walk through that space leaving her body behind. She had a purpose. The hidden message behind the ending is this. If we have something that we are doing that helps others that is of service, it gives us a light in our lives and a reason to be here. That is the secret gift. I hope you find yours.
